II.8. Right to withdraw services

CARA Society shall withdraw its services when someone is persistently discriminatory or is threatening in their behaviour. The withdrawal of services may also be considered in the case of the use of violence against the society's members of staff. Any member of staff who has experienced discriminatory or threatening behaviours/violence shall stop providing the services s/he was about to give. S/he must immediately report it to the General-Secretary who shall inform the Public Relations' Officer who shall in her/his turn report it to the Management Committee who shall take action.

II.9. How service users make complaints

If any user feels that the society has not followed its equal opportunities policy, s/he can make a complaint, as stated under our complaint procedure.

III. Employment

The Central Africa's Rights and AIDS Society recognises that everyone, including members of the Management Committee, staff, and volunteers, contributes to its success. III.1. Recruitment & Selection

CARA Society shall use job descriptions and person specifications in recruitment to ensure that they are not discriminating against certain groups of people by setting requirements that are likely to exclude them unless the requirement is essential for the post. We shall use set criteria to make it as objective as possible and our job description shall state clearly and simply the duties, tasks, responsibilities and lines of accountability of the post holder. The person specification should list the skills and experience a person needs to carry out the job, which might include skills, abilities, experience, education, training, qualifications, knowledge, and requirement to travel or to drive.

III.2. Application form and applicants' information pack

The Central Africa's Rights and AIDS Society shall send appropriate and sufficient information to ensure that all applicants have an understanding of the society and of services offered. The application and applicants information pack shall include job description, person specification, EOP, annual report, service leaflet, application form and monitoring form.
